Nativity story of John: As a laborer in the wheat fields, John worked hard all day, thrashing and binding the stalks to be taken into the market. He noticed a girl working in the field beside him. When the water boy came by offering a cool drink, he beckoned the girl to join him. They chatted about the upcoming festival of Pentecost, and John asked Hannah if she and her family would care to accompany him to Jerusalem for the celebration, the giving of thanks to God for the bounty of the harvest. Hannah promised to ask her family, and the thought of her companionship made John's work seem light.
