Brandon Mill

Using water or wind to harness energy is an ancient notion and the streams and rivers of Britain have been driving mill wheels for thousands of years. Early on mills were small, local businesses grinding corn or flour or flax. As industry grew, the Victorians built more and greater mills to drive the machinery of growth. By the end of the 19th century, there were 20,000 mills in England.
