Father Christmas and Old Abe

By: Pipka Santas ®

Santa is traveling his American Christmas route with two of his favorite friends, the American eagle and the North American grizzly bear. Named after Abe Lincoln, the eagle, Old Abe, was a mascot for the 8th Wisconsin infantry during the Civil War. The North American grizzly bear, once numbered up to 50,000 is now down to about 1,000 bears in the continental United States. Santa is shown traveling with both animals to remind us how important wildlife is to all of us.
