The Dirty Owl Tavern
By: Department 56 ®
A sign on one side indicates established in 1854. Two entrance doors and big, bright windows welcome patrons to corner or bay window seats. An owl motif sculpted at the top, heavy wooden door with brass kick plate, heavy wooden shutters, sculpted elements such as a keg door for dropping supplies to the basement, and a convenience door in back of the chimney for cleaning are typical details that set Department 56 designs apart. There is even a block-and-pulley for hoisting supplies to the upper level.
