This beautiful red-brick building is home to several shops, businesses and apartments. McSorley’s Irish Pub occupies the corner, the central entrance leads upstairs to the old chart house, and double doors at the end of the block welcome visitors to the impressive SoHo gallery. A sign on the side of the gallery recognizes Lynn Maderich, long-time designer of Village accessories for Department 56 and a noted painter. The image in the window depicts an award-winning portrait Lynn painted of her grandfather. SoHo is the acronym for the area of Lower Manhattan south of Houston Street. The area is noted for its many artist lofts and galleries.
Parts included, Metal ladder attaches to the metal balconies, creating a fire escape; hanging sign for SoHo Gallery.
