Joseph Edward Tea Shoppe
By: Department 56 ®
The English have been famous for tea for centuries, importing the finest varieties for the Far East. Tetley is a well known company and this shop is named for the Tetley brothers, Joseph and Edward, who founded their company in the 1820`s. During the 1800`s, it was a popular sport to speculate which of the clipper ships carrying tea for the East would arrive first in London. The side of this tea shoppe includes a sign announcing the race updates. The famous Cutty Sark was often in contention.
