Second in the ongoing series of new designs reinterpreting the Original Shops of Dickens Village introduced in 1984. Although the commom family didn`t often enjoy meat throughout the year, Christmas was the exception. People made a special visit to the butcher for a Christmas Goose, or perhaps a fine cut of beef or lamb. The sign, shaped like a cattle head, lists the many types of products available , including lamb, and fowl. The second story residence is most likely occupied be the Beesley family and we see that pretty curtains hang from the front and side windows. the sculpted grinding wheel on the side of the building is used to sharpen the butcher knives, which are conveniently hung nearby. Touches of silver, to commemorate the 25th Anniversary, are added to the hanging sign.
